The magnificently beautiful east-west facing church was built between 1873-82, in a romantic style, based on the plans of János Melhouse. In 1936, a portico was built in the church and a clock was placed on its facade, thus becoming the prominent building of Kálvin tér. The old Nyíregyháza 13 stood in this area. church from the second half of the century, the floor plan of which can be seen in the congregation hall next to the church.
The east-west facing tower of the church is 38 m high.
It was ordained in 1883. It happened on July 3rd. (Lukács Ödön) The eastern facade tower of the eclectic style church is 38 meters high. In the 12×25 meter interior, together with the U-shaped eastern gallery, there are 800 seats. Its organ was built by István Kerégyártó. In 1938, based on Béla Árokháti’s plans, Ottó Rieger expanded it to a two-manual. Its 350 kg bell was cast by Ferenc Egry in 1928. The 150 kg bell was cast locally in 1802 by a wandering craftsman.
