It is a county-wide city museum named after the founder András Jósa. The European-famous archaeological collection of the Nyíregyház County Museum was founded by András Jósa (1834-1918), the former Chief Medical Officer of Szabolcs County. As a result of his enthusiastic work, the museum’s finds from the Bronze Age and the conquest period became nationally known. The museum is currently closed due to renovations!
